Primary Tool Sessions
These sessions will generally be "yet another" opportunity for guided use of the primary program tools
Excel examples:  A few more examples of using Excel to manipulate and visualize data
Excel for Math:  Specific examples for using Excel to teach math concepts
Modeling in Excel: A demonstration of using Excel capabilities to build computational models
Gnuplot:  A guided walkthrough of an example from the gnuplot case studies book
Gnuplot w/PERL: A guided case study including PERL data filtering
AVS w/CLYDE: AVS example(s) using the CLYDE tool (a front end 'wizard' that facilitates data entry)
AVS example: A guided walkthrough of a 3-D example without CLYDE
EasyViz/Databridge: A review/overview of the capabilities of these tools
New Tools
These sessions will be used for introductions to other visualization and data manipulation tools that may be of interest
Fathom: Fathom is a high quality tool for the gathering and manipulation of statistical data of the type and size normally used in classroom applications.
TI Interactive: TI InterActive! is a dynamic visualization tool for teachers and students to easily investigate ideas in mathematics and science through multiple representations.  It is very similar to graphics calculators so is easy to learn and lets teachers incorporate visualizations easily into tests and worksheets for classroom use.
GIS:
Digital Video:
Geometers Sketchpad:
A dynamic construction and visualization tool that enables students to explore and understand mathematics in ways that are simply not possible with traditional tools or with other software programs.  Applicable to many areas of mathematics including Algebra and Calculus.
Other People's Visualizations
Each of these sessions will focus on a different content area, and explore content specific tools or visualizations created for general educational use
Chemistry
Environmental Science
Physics
Biology
Mathematics
Computational Science Education Reference Desk: CSERD is a repository of materials that is part of the National Science Digital Library and includes a variety of educational materials for computationally-aided science and math education
Methods
These sessions are focused on classroom methods
Action Research
Web-based Inquiry
Open Polycom
During these times the polycom rooms will be free for face-to-face communication between sites.  Meetings can be scheduled in blocks and will be coordinated in IL.
