Biology: Predator-Prey Population Dynamics

The study of ecosystems - the interaction of animals and plants in a common location - is one of the more quantitative aspects of biology. The most well known type of ecosystem is the "predatory-prey" interaction. In this system, a predator attempts to survive by consuming the prey, and the prey looks to survive by consuming some type of vegetation.

In this visualization, we have wolves that reproduce who are looking to consume rabbits. The rabbits in turn are repoducing and consuming grass, which grows at a set rate. The animation looks to analyze the population of each animal and the amount of grass available over time. Time is represented by 'iterations,' each of which represents one cycle of birth, life and death calculations.
